Babylon 5 starting up again on Sci Fi

Babylon 5: The Gathering aired once again on the Sci Fi channel, which probably means they're going to air the series again. I hope they air In the Beginning also. And all of the other episodes I never had a chance to see. For some reason I really like the way that the aliens' (Centauri, Narn, Minbari, and of course other miscelaneous aliens) costumes and make up were done as opposed to the rest of the series. In fact, I really like them the way they were in The Gathering. It made the aliens seem, well for lack of a better term, alot less human than they were in the rest of the series, and it heightened the atmosphere of true coexsistance with TRUE alien races, not just aliens that looked like humans.

I've seen The Gathering before, but had forgotten parts of it. I have to ask, what was with those rings that Delenn had? And how come she never uses them again?

hehe, the gathering was quite different than the rest of the series... they changed a lot of stuff...added some, and got rid of some

The Gathering is the first movie, right?

It's the pilot, and good question about the rings. I wish JMS would have stuck to the atmosphere of the pilot, it would have definitely made alot of things seem a bit more novelistic in my opinion.

I hjave never liked the pilot, it's probably just cos i had watched most of the series up to the end and then watched the pilot after, when u r use to characters deing developed like in season 2+ it seems weird and not as good to watch. Like if u watched some of the first episodes of the simpsons where the characters were different looking and sounding.
The first one i saw was Voice in the Wilderness part 1 I think which got me hooked

Ive watched B5 since The Beginning and i always thought the way they look was to messed up for my taste. Especially Deleen, My God! did her makeup really suck. I really liked it when the changed the way the characters looked. Besides, its like they looked that much more human after the change, well the minbari did but the other races still looked as alien as before.

Fav Ep

Since everyone is talking about b5 ep's lately i though i would see what everones favourite was.
Mine was Z'Ha'Dum, the story line was perfect with the return of sheridans wife and "if you go to Z'ha'dum you will die' and the very last scene with G'Kar's voice something like the future is always born in pain

The quote you are looking for is this:

"It was the end of the Earth year 2260, and the war had paused, suddenly and
unexpectedly. .. All around us, it was as if the universe were holding its
breath, waiting. All of life can be broken down into moments of transition
or moments .. of revelation. This had the feeling of both."
"G'Quan wrote: 'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the
darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against
powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the
death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril
we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting in moments of
transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of
that future, or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born
in pain.'"
-- G'Kar in Babylon 5:"Z'ha'dum"

And yes, I too, believe it is an excellent passage. All of the end of season passages are good IMO
