Updates: What is Heirus Eridani?

Just uploaded was a new piece of The Babel Effect's ongoing fiction.

Traces of Legacy deals with a new section of the Laomedon Conclave's papper trail as events begin to form into their climax during The Babel Effect.

Below is a scene that might be common within Heirus Eridani, a powered down Faustus being protected by Laomedon sentry devices. (my first forray into the world of modeling)

Check out the fiction and look forward to details on this piece of Conclave technology in the future!

that sentry needs some sort of bulk on the back, like for a reactor or something.

So far the barrel turrets seem to be behaving properly from what I have heard.

Also, since the weapons on these are weaker variants, and that these are intended to be compact and mobile, a reactor array is not needed.

The undersides of these craft have a docking port, which allows for them to be mobile. Also the docking transport can transfer power from it's reactor to make the devices more powerful in output if needed.

Um, it's got beam cannons, which from all evidence are horridly powerhungry. It should have some kind of bulk to it.

I will impliment these little critiques since it will make the model look much better in game.

As it is, I've added small outcroppings on the back of the multipart turrets for reactors.

Also, the back now has a prominent docking port.

first off the beam cannons can draw power from the reactors of the vessels its attached too - second for when its not attacked perahps there should be a non beam cannon version - hmmmm turrets do work but having a little trouble getting them to point the right direction but hopefully its only a matter of time

The beams are not active when a transport or similar powersource is docked, which is pretty much what KillMeNow said and I didn't describe as well as I should have earlier. (and what the test image does not show)

Turret alignments I know aren't perfect since this is a first attempt at modeling, however I'm extremely confident in Killmenow's converting it properly and fixing up my mistakes. (as well as yelling at me to do a better job!)

This reminds me of the GTI Archeron.

What's that?

A small installation made by Robin Varley which can be downloaded at HLP. http://www.3dap.com/hlp/

The Acheron was a bit of inspiration for this, however functionality wise you'll be surprised at the flexibility that this platform should provide, unlike the Acheron.
