Exiting/Entering Hyperspace
I was thinking, would it be possible for Freespace 2 engine to enable ships to "enter" and "exit" hyperspace like in those Babylon 5 movies. It was also mentioned that ships would "fire" their engines when they enter hyperspace. Allthough i may be thinking impossibilities here. Current jump-effect is still pretty good and jumpgates look nice.

if you mean the cloro of the jump points it can be done (atleast i think so) and it wasnt included in R1 because of a bug or sumting the fighters into jump point WITH capship i think will be included in R2.1 if they go for source

Eventually with the source code we hope to make it more like B5. For the moment, its going to be TBP R1 style (although different mission designers have tried different ways with some success).
