Not yet. The new Source Code system will make that much easier when we finally do go over that way.

The easiest way is to go into your /FreeSpace2/data/tables directory and rename either the files or the entire directory. Re-name all the files in there and say put a .off on the end of them or something.

So ships.tbl will be ships.tbl.off. I used to do that before I was working on multiple MODs and ended up switching entire /data directories (I have 7 /data directories each with its own pilots and MODs applied).

You may want to make a new data drawer and move/copy your old data\players drawer to it so that you can continue to play with your old pilot

All the actual FS2 game data is contained in VP files. The TBP mod files only override those files when FreeSpace is run with the files in those directories. Removing the data folder from the directory won't cause a problem...FreeSpace 2 will make a new one. But then you would loose your regular FS2 pilot.
