the news post explains it. basically they think rf2 is a good game, but pales in comparison to ts2.
Todd, please explain the benefits of not making a PC version, because I'm at a loss.
quote:
If you compare Red Faction here to some indistinct nothing, then maybe it looks pretty good. You set it beside a contemporary like Timesplitters 2, and it starts to look like an ant enema.

Here I cna sum it up for you in 2 basic points:
1)PC Gamers expect a little thing called Support. Im not blaming V directly as I assume its 95% THQ's ways as most of their products have horrific support.
2)Sales- it costs money to support the multi servers and to port the game when very few people actually bought Red Faction(I blame marketing for that[hell if someone hadnt gave me their cd's and said here try this I wouldnt be here damned if I knew what Red Faction was])
More or less thats why they dot want a PC version. Its too bad because after playing RF multi all the others just suck. RF has something no other shooter around has: weapon balance. I can run around with a Shotgun and not get obliterated by every person with a HMG. Thats why so many people love it, its balanced whereas in most other games Bigger gun comes 1st next comes reflexes and actual aiming ability.
But thats the basic answer to why no PC version :P Time and money
If you realize how many times we've been through that discussion and how many times Todd has answered or tried to answer, u'd understand
Do a search for old threads and u'll see

We never said officially that there won't be a PC version. We always said we don't know. We were far more worried about getting the PS2 version completed to consider the pros and cons of doing a PC port.
Will we do a PC port? I don't know. I haven't been involved in any discussions regarding it, most likely I won't be. When will we know for sure? I don't know.
Its that simple. Getting angry because "we're not doing a PC version" is silly, because we never said we weren't. People read into comments far too much, and they assume things they shouldn't, and then it starts going around that we ain't doing this or that. Getting your hopes up because you think we're doing a PC version is silly, because we haven't said we are. We don't know yet, and never said we were. People read into comments far too much, and they assume things they shouldn't, and then it starts going around that we are doing this or that.
This horse has been dead and beaten for some time now. Let's have some respect for the dead.
