FreeSpace: Freespace 2 with Full Screen Anti-Aliasing
Posted by Plasma:
Games that are not highly dependent on framerate really benefit from things like anti-aliasing. For example: Flight simulators - And what's Freespace but a big, pretty and futuristic flight simulator?
Several screenshots of Freespace 2 running with full screen anti-aliasing have been posted here for your enjoyment. I don't know what kind of video card was used seeing as how I've never heard of "On Evil Kyro".
It was probably a Voodoo 5 or GeForce. Radeon supports hardware FSAA, but there are numerous bugs with it in most games.
Does FSAA work with an NVIDIA Vanta?
wow very clear for 640x480..

The Evil Kyro is fomr PowerColor (www.powercolor.com.tw).
It is based on the Kyro chipset which is produced by a PowerVR + ST Micro joint venture.
Looks very promising..I should know since I was the one who posted the pics.
Who the hell are you?
I'm just a FS2 fan who gets to play with new hardware.. well ocassionally anyway.

Framerate dropped 20-30 fps?
Well the mpeg compression used on HDTV and movies is infact down to 8fps, and no one notices...
But your average "social recluse" cannot have his/her/Richard Simmon's FPS drop below 60! "H0\/\/ D4r3 th3y dR0p my Q3@ r@t3 b_l0 60!"
The human eye can't discern framerates above 15fps, studies have shown that people believing certain framerates above 15 as faster than others is actually a placebo effect. (yes, this is true ladies and gents)
So if that 20fps off of the framerate gives you a negative framerate, I can understand.
If it makes your 140fps drop to an oh_my_god_how_could_it_be_so_low! 120fps, I'd like someone to shoot you
(not seriously, but you need to get laid... soon!)
