Matt Boynton, smartey Lead Level Designer (hey! I got it right that time!), made another post to the VBB regarding the "text driven interface" of RED:

I would like to clarify my comments about Red's "text driven interface. We have buttons in the editor interface and they have text on them that says what they do. For example, to create a brush from the cookie cutter, you click on the button that says "Create Brush" on it. As far as hotkeys go, almost every single hotkey has a button or pull down menu option in the interface. Hotkeys are just much faster and the preferred method of editor operation when time is of the essence.
