DL and try again, I just oploaded a new version that (hopefully) will give a beter error mesage (it should tell you wich file it's trying to load)

the origonal program isn't referenced at all, but there may be diferences in the german version that I am not aware of that may be causeing problems.

A version for a different country would make no difference unless you are mixing language files, in which case it would only serve to confuse the user. When a game is converted to a different language all that is done is a changing of any written and spoken words in the game. The simply re-write the text and re-record the voice.
By the way Bob, excellent work. Now just need to fix the beams to stop sounding after they stop fireing and make them record kills.

I thought I fixed that ! (beam sounds)
is it normal beams or fighter beams (probly fighter, but I figured I'd ask)
when does it hapen (the bug I fixed was shutting off beam sounds when the ship fireing a beam was killed while fireing a beam)
and there is some languge specific code in the sorce, I think it's mostly for translateing weapon names in multiplayer

Yes, the new version seems to work fine 
Exept that it causes severe slowdown in my system which makes playing experience little less enjoyable...
What is certain is that the newest version caused it. I'll see if I can trace the problem tomorrow. Unless, ofcourse, some Vorlon overthere can bless me with a explanation...
