The poll was run by the webmaster, not the Interplay brass. It doesn't matter what happened; if something comes of it it will be far into the future when this has been forgotten. Let's resign ourselves to the fact that both sides voted multiple times, neither side used autovoters, and both sides encouraged whoever they could to vote for the side they felt more strongly about.

Let's forget about this whole stupid, pointless poll and get on with our games, OK?

that's what i said in the very beginning actually.

yeah, let's forget the pointless poll, forget that you all became fools getting excited about it for nothing, and let's let this go. c'mon

No, I was wondering if the time it happened correlated with the Blues News post about the poll. Your experience probably happened Tuesday night and therefore, isn't related.

THANK YOU!!!! That was the entire point of this thing. Get that idiot Bobboau to admit it, and this debate'll be over.

Oh, and btw, for those interested, the webmaster of interplay.com responded to my question on whether you can vote more then once or not. Here it is:

It's possible to vote more than once, but it requires more than just refreshing. It's not something we are overly concerned with, as the polls are there to gauge general interest, not concise results.

If people wish to vote multiple times, we do not mind.

Thanks!

Now Interplay themselves have stated that a) multi-voting isn't cheating, and b) click/refresh/click/refresh/etc. voting doesn't work and everyone that did it was wasting their time and had no effect at all on the poll results. The turning-cookies-off thing might work, don't know, but that's not the point and doesn't matter anyway because it's not cheating.

*edit - fixed Bobb's name up there.

In regards to INTERPLAYS pov, it isnt cheating. But lemme ask you: does INTERPLAY's opinion matter more in this case, or does the opinion of the gamers? I mean, after all, I dont see a debate going on over at INTERPLAY about "cheating" do you? I do see that YOU guys came HERE to tell US that D3 is better than FS (which I do not object to). What I DO object to however is the fact that you come HERE to accuse US.

Personally, I find it very troubling that you take Interplay's position in that multiple voting is not cheating instead of the gamer's side, where most of this controversy is obviously taking place. Hiding behind the coporate curtain maybe?

Are you that stupid on purpose, or is it a gift you don't know you have? I came here because you accused us of using auto-voters. That's it. Say this along with me now: you accused us of using auto-voters, which means YOU accused US of cheating. That has been the topic the entire time, despite your pathetic attempt at sidetracking it into "you multi-voted, therefore you cheated even though you didn't use auto-voters! And even though we did it to!" has not succeeded, so just shutup. The fact you brought it up to begin with only further illustrates your idiocy.

I haven't called FSers cheaters a single time, and in fact, I doubt anyone else in the Descent community has either. We won the poll, remember? What could you have cheated on? And why would it matter if we won anyway?

This entire thing has been about your accusing us of auto-voting, not the other way around. Get it the **** right.

First, both sides multi-voted, so why are we even still discussing this? What the hell is your POINT? That multi-voting is cheating? That's your point? NOBODY CARES!

And Interplay's opinion matters more then yours because it's THEIR POLL. They make the rules, and they decided multi-voting was legit, therefore it is.
