I talked to shrike on ICQ last night...from what I can tell, he gets an email every time someone goes to the forums or hits refresh - which is quite a lot of email !

Yea, I hate vBulletin for that reason ... every time an error occurs on the boards, I get an email. Brilliant design ... should be set to "one email an hour" or something like that.

From what I gather (based on a 5 minute chat with Shrike), the forums use some server side script to build the webpages from a (mySQL) database system - so I'd guess there is some problem with the script accessing the database (some sort of error being returned) - if the script itself was screwed, I wouldn't expect that error page to pop up, more likely a 404 error IMO.

I'm not sure there's anything Shrike can do...it could be a hardware problem with the server. Are there any other forums sharing the same servers as HLP that we could check?

So here is where you guys are, spent the last 3 days trying to get on hlp without success.
