The latest Sea King is very good and reliable.

The F18s the Canadian Airforce has are the original mod 80s models which wernt deadly or high performance.

Nope, you've got both of those wrong. There is no "latest" Sea Kings. They are all 30 years old or more. They require a huge amount of repair time for every hour that they fly.

The CF-18's are F/A-18A's. They have virtually the same performance specs as the F/A-18C's, minus a few of the upgraded features (mostly to sensors and whatnot). The engines are F404's....that hasn't changed...although it might have with the new Super Hornet. So while the CF-18 is an effective fighter, the airframes are beginning to get a bit on the older side themselves and they aren't quite as capable as the newer American varients. Of course the argument is that its not always your equipment, but quite often, the pilot that makes the difference.

Maybe, maybe not....the EF2000 is a quite nice fighter....AND...the SU-37 is still a very unpleasant enemy...

...I don't like the Gripen. It can't carry enough weapons

The F-22 is pretty incredible, but I've learned that we should not discount the effectiveness and capabilities of the Su-37 or the EF2000, of which both are incredible fighters.

bah, the EF2000. It's a cheap plane. The french leaved the project coz it was tone down (hence the name change from EFA to EF2000). The EFA was meant to be much more efficient. The Rafale is about what the EFA was supposed to be.

Personally, I don't think much comes close to the SU-37 in terms of sheer meneuvrability and combat prowess. The thing can stand on end and, to some extent fly backwards - and it's got a higher stall point than most other fighters, I believe.

Now make an SU-37 B, that can carry modern computers and missiles, and it'd be great. I mean, the SU-37 isn't old, but progress in computing...well, I'm sure you know.

Dunno, but the SU37 Berkut sure looks cool:

It really looks like it comes from a movie. lots of other pics there:

Whee!

Nah, the RAF Tornado GR4A and GR1A are some of my favorite current Fighters. Personally i see the JSF as leading the way, two of the best Airforces in the world combining technology and experiance to create the next generation Fighter. The Eurofighter is pretty good too, dont know what your talking bout though when you mention toning down. Still i reckon the JSF will emerge top of the pile, mabye not in the direct sense of dogfighting each other but its abilities when compared to the other military aircraft.

JSF has to be up there near the top of "very cool planes" list. Two countries, and how many services....

Two navy's, marines, airforce, and I think im missing something. Ahh maybe not. If they can pull the JSF off, that'll be pretty amazing.

Sorry but wouldnt touch anything from Russia with a barge pole too much dogfighting ability not much else.

The Typhoon is the best fighter in the world at moment for cost effectivness (and second best after F22 for effectivness)

Nah....the EFT (that is its real name now....Typhoon!! ) is NOT cheap....the french left the project, cause in their arrogance they wanted a french fighter, the Rafalé....and the EFA was nothing more than a test platform for EFT technology!

That is the S-37, not the SU-37...the SU-37 is an improved version of the Su-35, which is an improved version of the SU-27!

I was under the impression that there was no difference between the two.

There's also a next gen MiG coming up as well. Not sure if it'll be like before with the two working in tandem or the two as competing for roles.

F-22 ALL THE WAY!!!!!! It's the advanced tactical fighter of the future, my friends. Low profile. Can pull a 6 g turn at Mach 1.4. Range of 900+ miles. I think that cute little trick you pulled with that picture should really be the other way around.
