Hey,
For all those arguing about Neptune, viable resources, military bases and the rest, play the original Descent. Yes, plain old Descent, for DOS. The PTMC has bases on every planet and as we know it is also contracted for government weapons research. Pick up a few ideas. Remember, Descent: Freespace- The Great War is set in the Descent universe. (Could we fly Pyros in this mod? Pleeease?)

Y'know, I never could figure out how anyone can determine that Freespace takes place in the Descent universe.

Nor could I, but I *gasp* never played Descent.

The freespace and descent universes are completely different the obvious fact of this is the severe differences in technology.

Descent: Freespace god its name due to the fact that:
A) Interplay owned the license to the descent name.
B) Volition itself is comprised mainly of ex parallax employees

And didn't they also change the name to Conflict Freespace
rather than Descent Freespace? Or was that just over here
they did that?

I played the original Descent, but things ambush you from around corners and I lost my nerve.

This is a common occurence usually refered to as a mistake.

If would be perfectly possible for Earth to improve this method and make lots of materials very easily and quickly

Umm... Fusion isn't quite that simple. You can't just fuse any element.
