Can't these mines be engaged by the AA flak?
Should be cool

Well, I was speaking for everyone.

Me, personally, well that's an entirely different matter...

somewhat OT for this thread but was mentioned i think.

In addition to individual nameplates for each ship, would it be possible to make each ship in-game have a slight variation in texture? (I am pretty sure that all narn ships aren't painted exactly the same.) I think that this mabey has more to do with moving textures bot oh well.

It much easier to have all the GQuans the same as each other while the ThNor will have different textures and the TLoth is different again.

I know it's "realistic" that two energymines can take out a Hyperion (or Midwinter ), but I think it would be better for the game to decrease the damage!

When the Narn used the e-mines to attack the Shadows, wasn't there a shockwave?
But the "effect behind the mines" (don't know how its called) look really good!

There is a shockwave, but in second picture it has already disappeared and the hyperion is blowing up.

Energy mines are supposed to be used only in very long distances, not in close range. And for gameplay's sake, G'Quan should only fire one mine per launcher at most in a single mission. But remember, they are rarely used.

That all is mission designer's job. So you should not just put G'Quan in-game and have e-mine launchers firing freely, single G'Quan could utterly destroy a fleet of Sharlins if they are far enough.

We can't do everything for you, mission designers will.
I have taken all necessary aspects into account for one of my upcoming missions, which includes a G'Quan firing e-mines. That is my job as a mission designer.

Energy mines howewer does have extremely long refire rate.
But I suggest doing following:

1) If you plan using energy mines in a mission:
-Use an event to lock e-mine launchers until time is right.
-Lock e-mine launchers again when their job is done.

2) If you do not plan using energy mines in a mission:
-Remove e-mine launchers completely.

We are still tweaking e-mines, but currently this special weapon's stats are somewhat like this:
-Best used against capital ships.
-Does not target fighters, but will destroy them if caught close enough to explosion.
-EMP shockwave.

Ice is currently working on fighter survivality if caught in the explosion radius.

About the individual textures: we have cars of many different colours, we paint our walls according to our own taste, we choose drinks by their colour (when drunk enough, I personally prefer green ) and so on. Why would we give it up when we move to space? Of course there will certainly be some characteristic colour patterns to make identifying ships easier, but the individual taste has still its effect on the colouring, both in- and outside our ships.

Well, that's only partially true since we're talking about military here... They seem to like green, brown and black as vast, monochromous sufaces and in certain places as mixtures in order to make the object fit the surroundings. Perhaps we'll move to black when in space: the background makes the ship difficult to see at a great distance.

The Minbari might colour their ships all the same since their society doesn't seem to worship individualism as ours do, despite the fact that Sharlin's original models vary much in colour (I have three original models in my aquarium: quite large, flat, long-finned fish with silvery, black, orange and shiny blue patterns... 'Lehtikala' (Leaf fish) they are called in Finnish, if someone *happens* to be interested in their english name check some book about Cichlidae ). The Centauri might agree with the Humans in this matter (individual colours), but all others are not very much into individualism, I'd guess. This doesn't include Shadows and Vorlons, of course, since their ships pick the colour themselves. It must be horrible when their ships have a very bad day .

Snazzy! But compare to the canon model...

The side textures seem completely different, and the overall proportions of the model seem off (forward "chin" too skinny, crew compartment too far forward, engine section too long).
