Also, for shooting at Raiders, wait until they present you with a top or bottom view of their ship. Much bigger target.

Yeah...and then press J to unlink your cannons and blast a few bullets in that delta flyer!

Has something happened to the IFH website? I've not been able to access it for the past two days.

Hey Colin, is that you?

Yeah, the site...well, we are unable to upload 8 kb of an index file up to the website server...it says is completely full. We're still looking into it...but we have almost no clue, what the hell is going on...

...and we need a new webmaster...

BTW...meanwhile...choose:

Well I've played IFH a bit and it has its ups and its downs.

THE GOOD

- Awesome visuals especially for a freeware product but its easily competitive with anything else on the market.
- Atmosphere is excellent as well from sounds, music, and voice overs
- Plot seems very involved so far and definately written with that B5 flare that I could never quite grasp at myself but someone else has done quite nicely
- Love the level of character interactions...very exciting (voice actors good too!)
- Sound quality holds up extremely well
- Control system, although not 100% intuitive in practice is very well thought out and I've seen many a retail product with less accessible controls

THE NOT QUITE SO GOOD YET

- Your wingmates aren't terribly useful so far and I easily got 75% of all raiders in that first mission
- Neither is the enemy although they are fairly convincing nonetheless and they aren't total idiots
- Everything is dark or fast...the contrast settings are definately right but things are dark, or just really fast, in any case you don't see much so it isn't terribly satisfying all the time
- Missions are interesting but VERY hard...I played the first one 3-4 times through before I didn't collide with debris or have the Autopilot fly me into the asteroid and the second one I still haven't lived through yet

OVERAL

- Excellent value (can't be beat) and very good production values
- Needs more gameplay balancing and attention to the average player - accessibility in a newtonian game is very important and they haven't quite got it yet - I don't have a good solution yet either

What happened to the last webmaster?

Did all the talking make them run into the forest screaming?

I haven't played the freeware yet, I just found out about it today and had someone download it for me (dial-up vs. DSL, who do you think will win that one?). Ever since Sierra dropped ITF I've been waiting for something like this to be produced, I never had the patience to program a newtonian engine!

He wasn't doing his job properly. I asked for links and he asked "why?"...oki, I'm just the sound dude of IFH...but when a project leader asks for certain things and he still refuses to do these...

If they beefed up the non-forward and backward engines on the Starfuries, just a tad, I think it'd make it a hell of a lot easier for new pilots to fly.

As it stands, the damn thing goes like a bullet whether you want it to or not

Howwwwwwwwww-ever. I think better HUD indicators would be wonderful to show you what direction you're busy flying in. The ladders are nice, but a picture with nice big vector arrows....maybe an optional diagram of your Starfury indicating which engines are currently firing. That'd be eyecandy but nice eyecandy (hence why I want it optional )

Lastly,

I need a goddamn T-bolt. Now. Thanks.

It's a nice idea with that indicator...

...about T-Bolt...that thing is modelled and works already...but I doubt you will see it soon...hey, IFH plays YEARS before the T-Bolt was introduced

...but there is hope for historical missions...

Aye...I need the more responsive Thunderbolt and its magnificent rapid fire cannon to show enemies some proper Earth technology respect

"why?"?

That's certainly different.

Where do I sign up?

I'll have to log into the IFH forum, I need to write in a few remarks concerning the relative velocity issue for fighters in space.

The Star fury is "manuverable," but is a tad sluggish compared to my recollection of the CGI in the series and basic knowledge of relative physics.

Then make skirmish mode work so I can use it there. You seem to either understand all too well or not understand my point:

Me.
T-bolt.
NOW.

IFH. Now there's a strange one. It seems they've spent so much time working on the (convincing) professional look of the thing that they've neglected play testing. It's a commendable effort, but it will need to loosen up a bit if it is to turn into something that's enjoyable to play.

IC...you can't handle newtonian physics...

I can handle the physics...its just that the gameplay sufffers because of them despite the best that the team has done to offset it. Unlike Microsoft Space Simulator where I managed to go spinning off into the abyss with no ability to get back to where you started I have no troubles finally getting back to a certain point....but intuitively...its even harder than most complex flight simulators.

Outstanding. This game is something . Physics are great, gameplay = fun. I still think Fs2 has a better perspective for capships so far. The TBP Team done a great job especially of the Minbari Cruiser, now that is a ship of true beauty.
