Oh, don't forget, I don't remember what the XP bootscreen looks like either. Considering it A) never crashes and B) when I have to turn it off it boots up in about 28 seconds, it's not like I get familiar with it, you know?

I repeat:
For problems in WinXP, a solution is to run your programs under an account with admin priveleges. It may also work if you are a 'power user', like I am, but it helps to set your account as an admin, install it, reboot, run the program, install addons, run it, etc. After that is done, you can set the account back to a 'Power User' (this is the best compromise between admins and regular users, in my opinion) and it will probably work. This should hold true for any game - I did this to get The Sims working for my sister (crappy game, but anyway..).
For those of you who don't know how to set a user as a 'power user', (Do the following steps as Admin, and not the user that you are going to modify) go into Control Panel, open 'Administrative Tools', open 'Computer Management' and go to the 'Users and Groups' section. Select the user that you want to set as a power user and right click-->Properties. Go to the 'groups' tab and remove whatever groups the user is currently in. Next, click the 'add user to group' button (I can't remember what the button's name is off the top of my head). Select 'advanced' and click 'Find Now'. When the list of available groups comes up, double click on 'Power Users' (or 'Administrators', if you want to set the person as an Admin). Click OK on all the open windows (or close them if there is no OK button) and log off as Admin.

uno-problemo I have no power to change to admin athourity and unless you know a way to do it without it showing...


besides, athourity is not the prob, this happened once before but i forgot how i fixed it.
