I'm just waiting to use this wave file in the future.

http://rich.envision7.com/imback.wav

It's from Duke Nukem II.

In the mean time, I'll keep drooling at this image.

Aaah... the pleasure. Even if it is an old picture already.

Could be but I think I am calling it quits after the patch is out. Dunno what others are really planning to do. At least most are definitely going to try to get unfinished ships done and released.

well if you are all going to call it quits, please could you give uss all the models(not the pofs but the original files) and place them as resource materials on file planet of something like that. Also could you have blacksheep finish the TBP movie?

Posted by GalacticEmperor on 09-26-2003 06:46 PM:

Hell, you already have some releases. There's nothing to be killed. It's simply completed its course, and is still avaliable as a complete B5 gameplay package. Should the developers decide not to continue adding stuff, it's not like they owe you guys anything.

A job well done, guys.

huruph hurumph hurumph

as for them oweing us anything I was asking for that stuff to be placed on file planet so that some other group in the future could possibly take up where TBP could possibly be left off.

Well. All I want to see is White Star, Babylon 5, Shadow Battlecrabs and some more league ships.

That's all we need to do tons of missions. And people could do the Vorlons.

Don't look at me! All I'm good for is mission testing!

But yeah, this really sucks with it all closing and stuff.

Atleast I got the Omega. (best ship EVER)

well we are waiting for a patch. But also the new Net code in SCP will bring it back to life. I think we can get some awesome multi player missions together...
Actually you could take some of those missions in the R2 and convert them to work with multi player. This might be awesome. Just make them a little more difficult. Also SHOW US SOMETHING NEW. Like a textured primus.
that will draw attention. you guys need to start thinking publicity and marketing.

Posted by Kazan on 09-29-2003 02:29 PM:

i needt o pass the multiplayer code past my testers but bobboau commited his Hardward TCL code (which is now the only directX option - video options are Glide, OpenGL, DirectX 8 Hardward TCL) - but the HTCL code has broken a bunch of things graphically so it needs to be fixed

also don't forget we can also smooth out those turrets on the nova now because the poly limits are up. also I think once we get the multi player up things might pick up a little. Also we would also Create name plates for ships for texture replacement.

let's not get hasty about polygon uppping

For some odd reason I doubt the modellers are going to redo parts of the ships only to add polys. No, the models are probably going to stay as is even if TBP will officially support fs2_open someday. Too much work for such a small gain in my opinion.

so mr. fury are you saying the SCP will not be the future of TBP. I think it will. I mean the abilities of H T&L can really bring us greater looking models and abilities. I thought by R3(if there is an R3) will officially support TBP?

I think the guys at Warner Pictures wouldn't think the same.

I rather have additional models of the quality of the models in R2 than better looking R2 models.
The SCP is a thing which would be nice, but which can wait (I mean wait longer than the rest ) Don't forgett implementing SCP surely needs a lot of time and some more time for debugging!

Posted by redmenace7 on 09-30-2003 07:31 AM:

well actually the SCP builds as of late are getting more and more stable. THey have a few bugs here and there. The H T&L will be finished in about a month. Well the lighting part.

Posted by Mr. Fury on 09-30-2003 10:37 AM:

redmenace7, I meant that in my opinion modellers and texturers have better things to do than redo the work that is already done, such as making new ships. If new features only requires you need to add something to existing work, that is probably fine, such as shine mapping, but don't expect high poly models if modellers are not willing to recreate existing models. But then again, luckily soon enough I don't have to think about these things anymore.

so are you saying that you will be leaving the project? By the way do you have any tutorials on texturing in unwrap, and and texture creation in general(preferably in adobe photoshop).
