yup, and I still ave absolutly no idea what is causeing it despite haveing decompiled and rebuilt that model several times, it wouldn't be that bad if the crash would show up in the debug builds.

bob,
did you ever fix the problem with the glow points not disapearing after destroying a subsystem that they are attached to and what about the beams rendering behind objects that should not be.

... no...

:shame:

I do know how to fix them if it's any consolation

I am sure you will find time by 3.6 to do it. I will file a bug report that you will ignore to try to light a fire under you butt.

Yeah. I was aware of that but it wouldn't matter to a newbie who's downloaded TBP-base

I keep getting distracted by other things, like the decal code and such, if HLP was up I'd be able to reconfigure CVS and get a stable copy to work from, but untill then I don't think I'll be doing much codeing (and MSVC doesn't even seem to be working on this new machine)

Lightbulb @ Black Sheep

Well, and first things first, no harm done whatsoever, I respect your view, (you are basically right), I just felt that it wasn't done for a reason, aka TBP team released it early to cause us grief, just that situations demanded it. In an ideal world maybe, but not when the release happened.

Respect for you and your awesome work, both here and in IFH, well, are astounding. You have every right to call things as you see them. And as I said before I think you are basically right, if a little harsh. TBP dieing? Far from it. I believe that only now, post 2.0 and 2.1 (after B5 is upon us) will the full potential of TBP be realised.

As for the army thing, what I wrote aboud DID happen. I was in the GAF (Greek Air Force), for 18 months, (my specialty was Airbase defense both from the air and the ground) and did all the things I talked about, Guarding about 6-8 hours a day (2 shifts) and a host of things in the remainder of that day. It always felt like somebody wanted us doing something, not letting us rest and staff. I mean picking up garbage 3 times over? There wasn't anything left to pick.

I so much remember counting the days to the excercises, both shooting yard and with the AA gun, and assaulting enemy location, just to escape all that useless labour. It gets old TOO SOON.

I didn't want to sound condescending, or patronizing, it is just that I remember being ANGRY beyond belief at things happening over there, and the way the superiors treated us. And to thing that I was a sargeant a VV Anti-terrorist training? Well, I was in AA-gunnery training one afternoon and all of the camp started running to the few TV sets available, to see 2 airliners crashing into the twin towers. The rest, as they say, is history. The fun part was during a drill, when we arrested our instructor, who was hiding in a place and forgot the keys to the cuffs. Well, it was a LONG time before we got out of the Araxos airbase again... but it was worth it.

I would LOVE to play your mission. Do you have a copy somewhere to send it to the devs? It could be released along with the patch. Could you send it over again? I 'm pretty sure it will be included.

Better choices for TBP? Hmm, I could think of other TC's but there never is a FRED that allows you to make your B5 dreams into a game.

Again, I must put forth my respect, you didn't do anything wrong, nor did I imply otherwise, anywhere in my response. Just that you went a tad too far, declaring the death of TBP and all.

You know what they say, no harm no foul. Being able to express openly is one of the best things there are. I use it all the time

the babylon project is not your last best hope to do anything... but the models.... you must focus on getting the ships made, if you finish modelling/texturing everything, even if the project collapses, as long as those models are available, the project will continue at least in spirit... I know 20 different engines that could be considered for a mod such as this, any of them are good. but few have the models. this project has been providing models of a quality which we rarely see. to stop modelling now would be a tragedy.
