*quickly hides his 500 votes*

And We are back, live from where the Actions going! Even though Freespace/Descent totals still outnumber us 43/57, Freespace 2 has gone to lead with an outstanding number of 41 against Descent 3's 39% The fight however is not over yet, and all is due to change.

I only vote when I want to check the score.

Posted by Bobboau on 02-04-2003 05:43 PM:

I don't think it lets you vote more than once

Stealth: It doesn't matter, If we didn't vote more than once, then we wouldn't be where we were. And if anything, at least they won't know to like Descent 3 and they'll see how much FS2's fans love it.

on a sad note, I can't vote at school do to the damn restrictions. Rest assured i'll hit it with broadband when I get home though. We should get it up to 70 at least to ensure victory.

Fire away!

Damn, I hate this. When close to vicory, I'm starting to see the bad side of the possibility of FS3

Posted by Goober5000 on 02-04-2003 06:11 PM:

Seriously, tell everyone you know. Arguments to use (copied verbatim from my communications)...

* If enough people vote for it we might get FS 3! Tell everyone you know to vote also. Actually, don't tell any rabid Descent fans, or they might spoil our progress. Don't hack the poll, though, because if they see we cheated they might forget the whole thing!

* Descent had three games, but Freespace only has two! It's only fair.

* FS 2 is better than any Descent. Some may tell you otherwise, but it's likely they never even heard of FS 2. Why? Because Interplay made the stupidest marketing move in history and abandoned FS2 as soon as it hit the shelves. Lack of advertising doomed a great game to a lonely death.

* FS2 has so many plot lines hanging at the end of its story that it needs another game to tie them up!!! The game maker (Volition) was expecting FS 3 to be green-lighted, so they left a huge cliffhanger. Then Interplay decided that because FS 2 didn't sell well (their own fault) they didn't want to invest in FS 3. Volition wants to make FS3, but Interplay won't let them.

---

Anyone have any additional arguments? Post them here!

Yeah it does... you can only vote once... Bobbau's right i think.

Try voting 4 million times, the poll won't change, and if it does, it's because someone else somewhere else voted

yeah, since this morning HLP's on the "block" list too (a "forbidden" site)... i'm going to have to fix this later

Fire away!

Stealth - if anyone has just one vote, FS2 wouldn't be there, where it is right now.

i've voted dozens of times and it hasn't moved up much.

*shrugs*... it might.

but remember the only people that are voting for FS2 are not just Volitionwatch and HLP members... there's a lot of other people that are fans

yeah, but D3 should have looooots of more fans than FS2 since they published it pretty well

that's what i'm saying! the reason we've got more votes than D3 is because of people spamming the poll, and i'm sure they'll notice that

hopefully not, but they might

I wouldn't bet mooney on that. Look at the Interplay forum, a lot of people are supporting FS2 there.

Posted by Stealth on 02-04-2003 06:45 PM:

i'm not saying that i hope there's not going to be a FS3, i'm all for it, and i encourage all people to vote, go for it, i've voted dozens of times but don't get too hopeful
