The textures aren't too bright. If the ship is in the dark space, it will appear darker than it is.
I think it's very good and all the details are fantastic.

now are we going to be able to change the default position of the weapons up top? I know this is a HLP question but it is so hard to get your questions answered there and I was just hoping some one here might have a good idea about the status of that "feature."

The turret barrels are always upright because of FS2's engine, there's nothing TBP can do without modifying the code, so you'll have to wait until at least R3 for that to be changed.
