and i hope none of them have the awful texture job of the Hecate, i mean the textures are brown and horrid. A Vasudan Design influence should not have been the colour. Vasudan ships have good models, but the textures always ruin them IMO. I think it was done so that when you played FS1, you felt like you were doing a great service to yourself and the galaxy by destroying those ships.

The Orions seem to be like today's B-52 bombers - there's newer and perhaps even better aircraft (Yet I wouldn't like to fly an aircraft taht has a tendancy to fall apart in the air <cough> B-1 <cough> ), but the price to actually replace the whole fleet of them with more modern craft is so high that they'd rather upgrade tehm to stay in service for another 30 years.

About the Colossus' full fighter compliment making it a formidable adversary, well, I wholeheartedly agree. They say it carries 160 WINGS of fighters. It should eliminate a Sathanas easily with that many fighters. Say 1/5th of them are bombers, just give them a compliment of Helioses each, and you have one Sathanas fleet less in the world. Of course, a Sathanas has a huge fighter compliment of it's own, but it seems that they never actually utilize it - why the hell didn't they scramble all the fighters from the first Sathanas while it was disarmed and being destroyed by the Colossus (I managed the Colossus to survive with 100% hull)? Those things always annoy me. Since a captain can see his ship is about to go down, why doesn't he send all his fighters (Unless it's something like how the Psamtik was destroyed, in which he doesn't really have time to scramble anything).
Just my random unrelated rant.

The same argument could be posed against the Colossus. We might have seen about 1% of her total fighter wings throughout the course of the game, and I'm serious about that.

That is more of a gameplay/engine limitation, however.

What if the Colossus and the Sathanas confronted each other and launched ALL of their fighters and bombers at each other.
Can you imagine the scene?

That's what High Noon should've been like.
