Chill d00d.

No...if you watch the sequence...the Nova in question that is firing beam weapons is underneath the Nova's that exploded. It probably got quickly tooled after the scene...but not during from the looks of it.

The beams are definately present. There isn't many other explanations.

That is because they are pointing at the Nova, and the camera is in the middle of the beam fire.

No...its definately NOT a Minbari beam. So therefore it has to be an Earth beam.

If you look carefully, the ship DOES get blown up, as well as the ships above it... it's hard to spot, but it's there.
I am still against the idea that they had any beams- for instance ( I know this isn't definative proof, btw ) going back to the episode in series one ( A voice in the wilderness) when we first see the Hyperion, THAT had no beam weapons, and it's what? 10 years after the EA/MF war?

thats like saying a standard car from the 70s doesnt have power steering, and still doesnt today. it doesnt mean power steering still doesnt exist. thats about the worst argument ive ever heard lol

Well think about this one all the other times we see a Nova the beam is RED!!!! EA=RED! MF=Green!!!!!, and for somthing too think about what if not all the ships in the EA could have beams look at the Tech info of the old vasudian ships the Tphion had some probs with mounting beams, so whats to say that the EA did not have that same prob, I rest my cace.

It is only a bad argument if you misunderstand how I meant it...
Do you understand it?

If you have seen B5 In the beginning you would no that the EA had no beams of eny sort.

Posted by MaSC on 08-15-2001 08:57 PM:

Geez, the beams are red, thus they are EA beams and by wierd coincedence they are coming from Novas Gunports.

Hence the Nova is firing

Question: What is the problem with a Nova having beam weapons? Why are some of you so uptight about it?

All it means is that the EA didn't buy beams from the Narns, it was never said in the show what weapons the EA bought off the Narns.

Why? In fact that was one of the few times we saw Nova's firing in itb and even then theres no garentee that they would use just because they where there.

Asd for Hyperions, its possible that util after the War that Beams where just too big or power hungary for Hyperions and when they where suitable then the Hyperions where upgraded.

Just because he said an apple was an apple doesn't mean you should believe him when he says another apple is a pear.

It wouldn't be a problem if he stated his sources but until then B5Tech usless as a source.

You must be coler blined, but I would think that it would be too hard to win without them, so.... I change my vote.. haa pout them on.

There is always the third option: the FX guys screwed up. Like on that scene with the Thunderbolts (season 3) where they do the missing man formation. Those thrusters are blue, but we know they aren't

I think we can safely assume that after the war, beam weapons were retrofitted to surviving Nova dreadnoughts as it makes sense. The technology had been bought from the Narns and it wouldn't have taken a lot of effort to reverse engineer it given that the Narns had done the same with Centauri weapons.

Although Nova's were underpowered as it was.

Nope they were not Thunderbolts, but I dont whant to fight over it, and the Nova was more like a gunship. I are you going to pout beams on the big guns on the top and on its bely?
