That says there was a 7.1 earthquake in the Hector mines on October 16th, 1999.

It appears Chucker found one that is stronger than the one I thought was strongest. My source said that an 8.7 occured on December 16, 1811; hence my hint. But Chucker found a stronger one, the strongest in history, and therefore he gets the points. Congrats!

Razzle was incorrect. He did not win the award for chemistry. He won the award for working out the cycle of photosynthesis. Chucker has taken the lead by one point!

Next Question:

Which element of the periodic table reacts with the water vapor in the air?
-Worth 3 points

That is quite a hard one, but if no one can get it I will offer some hints. And Fantomeye, you can't answer, because I've already told you this one

Iron (Fe)?

Rust is a chemical reaction between metal and oxygen, not water vapor.

Potassium is incorrect, and so is Iron. Sorry guys.

I'll give a hint: It is a metal. Metals become more reactive as you go down the colums.

Mercury?

Posted by AJK on 12-15-2000 09:34 AM:

Francium?

Posted by DarkHorse on 12-16-2000 01:19 AM:

Rust is actually a chemical reaction between oxygen AND water vapour. We're talking about water vapour alone here.

And mercury reacts with oxygen, not water. Could be sodium, sulphur, chlorine or nitrogen, but it's probably something else.

Technically, that's not right
