more like no boom cas its in space although once it hit you you'd hear it but then you'd be dead or about to die. when the fringe of the SN hit the ships they werent totally destroyed untill the more powerful wave

no, there is a boom, i know this because the star sends out a shockwave, thats what creates the sound. what i meant was that all the pilot would see was a flash before he was cooked to a crisp by the radiation shockwave. remember how those capships were melted in the endgame movie? think what it would do to a tiny little fighter which you so happen to be flying at that point in time.

I think that the blast would have disintegrated your ship, leaving your peices to be melted by the rest of the nova.
