Well I think it's obvious. The representations are as follows:

EA = Luxembourg
Minbari = Hawaii
Centauri = The Isle of Wight
Narn = Pennsylvania

Luxembourg are clearly the EA - an often overlooked state which is always at the centre of international activity between many foreign powers.

The Minbari have to be Hawaii - an idyllic race far away from the rest of the nations, who keep themselves to themselves.

The Centauri are the clearly supposed to represent the Isle of Wight (on the south coast of England) because.......... well, ok, maybe I'll come back to that one.

And the Narn are Pennsylvania because.....

.........oh darn it! I don't think I've thought this through properly.

Just talk among yourselves while I work it out.

Why not... Asia = China + India + Russia + kazachstan (all have nuclear weapons)... I would think they are quite powerful... Asia contains half the world population... If you combine the power of all countries, it's the most powerful continent...

So the comparison would definitely be correct...

Kazhakstan have given all their nuclear weapons back to Russia in line with various nuclear treaties. Pakistan however (along with India as you say) have nuclear weapons against these treaties and refuse to decommission them unless the other does so first (i.e. a stalemate). With over 50% of the world's population, the biggest airforce (China), army (Russia) and nuclear arsenal (Russia) I would say that Asia could be pretty powerful if united. Also the analogy with the Drakh continues if you consider that they are really sleeping giants, ready to be awoken.

Combine this with:
EA = USA/Canada
Minbari = Germany/Italy/Spain
Centauri = Britain/France
Narn = Africa
Drakh = Asia

and IMO the analogy fits.

*Minbari fit with Germany/Italy/Spain IMO because they have had great power in the past, still command much respect an power but don't get involved in world conflicts as readily as the USA and the UK seem to.

Maybe I would change this:
Centauri=Germany/Italy/Spain
Minabri=Britain/France

Beacause it's said in the show that the Minbari are the most powerful of the younger races, and Britain/France is more powerful than Germany/Italy/Spain.

This is correct... Still I would change them, because I think that fits even better...

Germany/Italy/spain were also great powers in the past, but are not a superpower at the moment... just like the centauri...
Britain/France however would be a superpower, just like the Minbari... And after the forming of the ISA the Minbari have become more active in interstellar affairs...

small sidenote: china doesnt have the world's largest airforce, the US does.

Baaaaaaaaah thats some crazy compharisons.

Centauri: Russia (once a Superpower, now only a shadow of the past but still have to be reckoned with, and sometimes still has military escapades)

Narn: Arab/african (Always been opressed by the the most powerfull nations, have less tech than these last and everytime they go for a military campaign it always ends in tragedy.)

EA: europe got pretty good in military srength but then gew in arrogance and end up in wars that resulted tragedy
Minbari: US (self centered but always playing a major role on others lives, unrivaled military war machine)

Drazi: china ,strong but had difficult realations with its neighbors (russia=centauri) and traped in a region filled with expansionist powers (russia, japan, US, india) hold large armies but less tech and logistic problems.

some mentioned as italy being a former expansionist power in the past same as spain and Germany... the italian nation is relatevely recent I mean while Portugal, spain, france, britain and netherlands got their overseas empires italy was a amalgamation of city-states and enclaves, one wich was home of columbus (Genova, not either spanish or Portuguese)
The only thing they did was some expeditions being the most notorious one did by Marco Polo.

I still say The Spanish are getting too much credit for what they did, if the americans had to thank someone for the discovery of america they should thank UK because this one was the 1 that did ended up owning former Spanish (underexplored) territories and explored the US and partialy the Canada (also by the french).
The Spanish razed everything where they set foot, obliterating entire civilazations, and never achived their main goal: finding the EL Dorado.
And if you want to credit the British byt their massive empire (and I do have an urge to set this right) everyone should know (and be shokced) that infact that was the result of steping were we tiny portuguese have left our footprints.

We crossed cape of good hope in south africa first (actualy the original name for is Portuguese: cabo da boa esperança)
No one had the tech to sail against those predominat winds and currents before us.
We owned India over a century before the british and reached china and japan first by sea. (and left those last)
We were the first to establish intercontinental trade between Europe and asia. (Spain didn do any of this)
We also controled african Silk routes, a higly profitable business and ended up owning sevela territorries all over africa.
The Brithish followed these endeavors and did the same but in a larger scale.
Recently the autralians discovered that a Portuguese expedition has desinbarked on their beaches before Capt. James Cook did, found Caraveles burried in the sand and carbon 14 confirms them to be older than cooks journey.(no one likes to re-write history books)
We were too small to do more so the british and the french ended up replacing us gradualy in asia (not completely though)
The Dutch came last and often took what others have gathered with love,ended up owning places not worth a re-conquest campaign...

What about the Egyptians? As we all know both civilazations crumbled due to internal conflicts and then invaded by other peoples, by comparhson barbaric, that ended up scatering the original natives creating a mixture of peoples that faded more and more more throught the centuries. More peoples, more invasions.
I doubt theres any direct descendant of roman or Egyptians. Italians arent the same as romans. This is also true for their culture. Both ended up being adapted absobed untill completely fade away.
That doesnt verify for todays european countries (Former overseas expanding ones) , wich in some cases date back 800 or 900 years.
