We haven't properly done all of the weapon and ship selection interface yet. Thats definately on the todo list for Release 2 but we haven't really approached it yet, except for CptWhite who has rendered a few neat looking tests.

Just to add my 2p's worth:

when you say you're probably use waypoints etc, you could do this:

Set up some waypoints arround the edges of the playing area (a long way around). Give the WS a command to attack a target, it will fire as it approaches. As it gets to, say 500m from the target, give it a new order to go to one of the waypoints. Then when it is a set distance from the enemy ship, order it to go back and attack.

Repeat until either is destroyed.

There is still a problem as the WS might attempt to fly thought other nearby ships but what in life is perfect?

Yes, and another problem is that WS will not behave dynamically.
I mean that if it is attacked by fighter(s) it will not do anything to evade or to get rid of fighters if they are not inside the arcs of WhiteStar's weapons.

But if it is a bomber, it will respond to attacks and will try to defend itself.
