...what reputation?

And for you "hard time" you are responsible on your own...sesh, what did you exspect? We already told you here, that FS2 is not dead and you started the same stupid FS2-death-thread on HLP...

...well, I hope that sorted out for you. Now search a mod team and learn something...on your own, like everybody did here...

I'd been so busy I had no idea what was going on in the General FreeSpace forum at HLP. Wow....what a way to introduce yourself to a community by suggesting that its dead and that everyone has been sitting on their laurels not doing anything when infact we've got this huge source code team, multiple campaigns and MOD teams, and two remaining website networks that still display FreeSpace content and even report on FreeSpace news from time to time. What kind of reaction would you be expecting?

Multiplayer arena may haven't really done much for a while but then it never really was the largest component of the community and it was generally the one with the most problems (that was the first forum to go back at the VBB, followed by virtually everywhere else).

well IceFire,
i gues you do have a point there.
well just to let you know, i have realized that i did make a mistake by those posts.. but i hope u know where i came from.. a nearly dead or dying (seemded like) mulitplayer.. i did not know anything else beyond that; thats how i got my false idea of fs dying.

and i do apologize for all of that. to all of u... bwo and hlp.

I never got into the Multiplayer aspect. I got ADSL at the start of the year but I think I was too late. That and the fact that my piloting was nowhere near the online standard.

Ironically one of my first posts was how I was hopefully gonna have ADSL by the time BWO came out so I could download the massive file (predictions had it pretty big). At the time I was worried that I would the campain would come out before I could get broadband.

Sorry I couldn't disappoint you on that one

I wrote another mission dialogue tonight...I had it nearly implemented too and FRED crashed on me again so I've gotta re-do it again. Lovely....but eh

I was worried it was going to come out during the summer brownouts 2 years ago... lol

And Spike, don't worry about it. If you just keep posting Relevant replies on HLP, and you actually type out your words, we'll forget what you did, and embrace you as a newnie...

ROFL...like me you're tending to forget backups, eh?

Almost....

I had saved the mission before I did the dialogue implementation. I even saved after I had added all the messages to the list (some 30 of them!) and then I went back and FRED crashed half way through making the events....so I redid it last night and wrote some dialogue for another mission.

Er... tell me you're not forgetting about the *.bak files as well as Backup.001, Backup.002, ... Backup.009?

Still play FS1? Check out my upcoming campaign, Fortunes of War.
Play FS2 instead? Check out my finished minicampaign, Deus Ex Machina. :D

Posted by BabProj Team on 12-09-2003 02:57 PM:

Those usually are saved the last time you save the mission....(it saves both the FS2 and the BAK file at the same time). This really helps when you screw something up later and you really need to revert back...but in my case, I had just saved and had lost about 20 minutes of event work which was not saved.

I don't think the BAK system keeps a running copy...I've never had any real success using BAK's except in a few very dire of circumstances.

Its meaningless now...I've done the mission and redid the events even better than before.
