Yes, but a computer could hit you almost every time in a fight, as they know your velocity, your distance, the shot warmup time and the shot's speed and ballistic drop, if applicable. All they have to do is some math (and computers are very good at math) to hit you dead on. Also, for realistic energy weapons (masers, x-ray cannons, etc.) that are almost instant hit, computers win every time because they can target. track and fire with deadly precision.

Future wars won't be man vs. machine (that is the playground for nascent AI's), it will be SHODAN vs. NEXUS type matches. It may also depend on which AI has the best human generals or downloaded neural nets, to help with unpredicted situations.

Anyway, LOAPhReAk, what makes you so sure that the target_is_not_a_civilian test will even be incorporated into the AI's, as they won't be trying to cripple their military, readying them for conquest, but instead will be trying to wipe out the fleshy beings.

Command always being on the radio pisses me off. That's one of the cheapest, most bogus things in the game, in my opinion.

Well I think Command is there simply to tell the player what to do. It would make more sense to have another fighter, or a ship in area do the order giving but the problem with that is that they could get killed unless they were invulnerable or something. I dunno, I don't mind it. Though the Spec Ops without command are kind of refreshing. My favourite FS2 mission is the last SOC mission in the Mara actually. There's nothing to special about the design, it's just got great atmosphere.
