That telepathic scream... It might have an effect inside the player's head when the deadly interest of that enormous, evil, undead thing is all directed to him or her. Meaning that all ships have one ship targeted most of the time, and when a Battlecrab targets the player's ship, the sreaming sound is played (naturally this happens when the player passes by it or does something else that may attract its attention).

The Battlecrab will also continuously monitor the field of battle so the deadly interest will hit the spine of the player every now and then. One can never know when will the purple beam evaporate the little tin can the player sits in, and when it hits, the target won't have time to marvel the firepower .

This won't probably require too big changes since there already is a warning sound for a hostile ship firing at you, and the enemy that shows the most interest is indicated with that moving pointer on one's HUD. This means that the engine already "keeps watch" on who has targeted what or whom.

Actually not zombies. Only following orders blindly, but 'crab CPU's are still thinking beings.

Read Technomage trilogy.

The "cpu" actually gets to enjoy the thrill of the kill and to fly in space. And if they are taken from the "machine" they find they need to get back and "join" with the machine .

By saying "undead" I meant only that it must be horrible being unable to live without one's own will... The mind of the orgasim acting as CPU is reprogrammed to want to kill and kill and kill... The programming destroys most of the original personality, which can be ragarded as partial death. At least that's the idea I got from the show.

The ship is a living organism as well, yes, but they seem to be "mindless" without the CPU organism. A forced symbiosis, at least in my opinion.

Anyway, the combination really would scare the hell out of me: only very few frienly ships left around after an intense battle, real adrenaline flows still in my veins and suddenly the deadly attention of an enormous Battlecrab is all mine... The scream cuts its way deep into the subconscious... Only a second or two to feel simply panic and then it's all over. The voice still screams in the back of my mind as I watch the glowing debris field spread on the screen...

That's something that even the most experienced ones would perhaps greatly appreciate in a game: horror that's not ready-chewn but born deep down there.

Perhaps... Or perhaps not.
Remember when Lyta was helping Franklin in finding a way to remove the Shadow machines from the teeps? The dude that woke up was curious about the beings that did those horrible things to him and why he still had wires in his head. Meaning HE was still there, allthough his mind had suffered a little. Understandable considering what he had gone trought.
And because Franklin was trying to remove the implants gives reason to belive the the teeps could recover...
So I don't think them as dead or vegetables. More like slaves.

They had only been given the interface implants, and not fused into any ships yet... Quote from Justin, the middle man: "Once you've been inside one of those ships for a while, you're never quite whole again." Just look at Anna Sheridan... The personality died when she was inside. (The shadows reconstructed it partially, but it wasn't enough to fool the person who knew her best.)

Well, I'd say she must have something like those... Such an airhead could not have reached her current position without help from the First Ones in the business

Her own personality would perhaps not have said those things concerning marriage and

*dammit, no Britney now... *clickety clik* Ah, much better.*

false "front decoration". I'd say also that her real personality, even if it was only a Shadow reconstruct, might be much more interesting. I'm SO bored of stupid women.

Those Shadow implants must somehow make us believe she's more attaractive... I just can't figure out any way how they're doing it. Oh, I forgot: the Shadows are telepathic as well. That must be it .

Hmm.. there is evidence that shadows do have telepathic abilities though - when Delenn, Ivanova and Lyta go to Z'ha'Dum to look for John, the *thing* that speaks into their minds with the voice of their respective fathers is obviously of shadow origin, and obviously telepathic to some degree.
The systems of the shadow ships are vulnerable to telepaths, but it is difficult to ascertain whether or not the shadows themselves share this weakness.

Are you sure that was the shadows not one of their allies?

IMO, They are teeps but are extremely vunerable to them...

Well, semi sure.. The CG shows the "source" of the effect, and it looks just like a shadow. There was no reason for the Shadows' allies to make them believe the message came from their masters, because they were trying to force them to land, not scare them away.

I'm unsure whether the shadows themselves are vulnerable to teeps. It's certain that their ships are, but considering they are able to attack and kill Kosh, and Vorlons are extremely powerful telepaths, I doubt that they themselves are as vulnerable as their technology.
