How about looking at the viewscreen where the Whitestar appears in the episode "No Surrender, No Retreat" ("Incoming ships sir, unknown profile." "I've seen these ships before, those are Sheridan's forces") and basing the anims on that?

Basically it's a high-res wireframe mesh in white spinning in perspective, over a straight horizontal/vertical green grid background, with three side-by-side information panels ticking away directly underneath.

I'm not sure if I like it that much though

I've got bright ticking away at the TGAs right now, with big things it does take a while, probly a few hours, and this is after a few hours to render, so basicly once we settle on a template it'll take me a day per ship, maybe two a day if I do it right

Sorry about the poor quality, but considering I was taking a photo of my TV it's not too bad I guess
