Nobody told you to stop socializing.
Mindless drunkenness != social interaction/having fun (even though some people have been 'taught' they are by their culture). If it's altered state of consciousness you desperately need, realize that it's ultimately just a state of mind - you don't need chemicals for that...

Iced tea. Drink enough plain sweetened iced tea that it almost makes you sick. No killing of braincells, no hangover, and it increase, rather than decreases, your reflexes.
