3. I guess we don't see the game turning a profit.

Darn. That is a shame. Was Summoner 1 for the PC not profitable? It seemed to be very popular and it is definitely on my top 10 favorite CRPGs of all time (and that's not too shabby since I make games for a living, I'm 30 years old, and I've been playing CRPGs for close to 20 years).

4. Maya and Taurgis have new character models and probably animations, and there's a little new texture work, and probably a couple other things. As far as the game and gameplay goes, its the exact same.

That is excellent. That is pretty much what I read elsewhere and some of the downloadable movies via Gamespot Complete showed that as well.

The Maia model looks a lot better. Those flowing things on the sides of her legs look nice when she is standing or when she is spinning around in combat, but when running around they look weird. Or as my wife said when she was playing: "She looks like she has a big fat butt!"

I also thought Taurgis had really weird, stubby legs. I might enjoy his character more if he doesn't look like the King of the OompaLoompas to me.

It also looks like Maia can use Katanas now:

Graphics and perhaps interface enhancements (I *really* wish I could define which key combinations triggered which special attacks!!) would be excellent. I don't need gameplay improvements because the game is already a BLAST. I would love to see the option to replay it while keeping your gear, money, skills, available characters, etc. (I know it would be weird story wise, but it would be a lot of fun).

5. I don't know. It wasn't delayed or anything, there was probably just some snafu in shipping the game.

I am wondering if it didn't arrive in stores around here (Washington, DC area) because no local stores had any pre-orders so the chains (the 2 big ones here are EB and Gamestop/Software, Etc./Funcoland/Babbages) took their time shipping it.

We have also been having a decent amount of snow over the past few days which could delay normal shipping. An employee at an EB here said they only UPS/FedEx games that had pre-orders. Otherwise they just use regular mail.

Today I cut out the middle man and ordered the GC version online from EBGames. I'll have it Wednesday =).

Furthermore, I try to answer questions where appropriate. If we're dealing with something that hasn't yet been announced, you can't reasonably expect me to answer the question.

Thank you. I really do appreciate your answers here as I am sure many other people do as well.

Please forgive my acerbic tone in my original post. It is just very frustrating when you dig and dig and cannot get any information (For example, the contact information for CrankyPants has an address and a phone number, but no email).

Also, I am a HUGE fan of your Summoner series of games and I hate to see it getting short shrift in the marketplace when it deserves SOOOOO much better. I frequently have to argue with a couple friends of mine who tease me about loving Summoner I and II when I found Final Fantasy X to be pretty but quickly boring. Additionally, myself and another frequent poster on comp.sys.ibm.pc.rpg are always turning people on to Summoner I for the PC (and its current $8 price tag is an insane bargain- though it was a bargain at full price imho).

I guess the biggest proof of how much I enjoy your Summoner games is the fact that in 2 days I will own copies of this game for both the PS2 *and* the Gamecube. Further, if you did come out with a PC version I would almost definitely buy that as well (especially if it had multiplayer!).

Anyway, thanks again for answering some questions. If there *IS* a forum or a way to get more feedback from your company about what is going on with the Summoner franchise (or any other RPGs) please tell us.

Many of us really enjoy your games and want to see them get the popularity and sales they deserve!

Oh... lastly:

PLEASE make a PC version of Summoner 2!!!

When trying to contact a company, you're best bet is always webmaster.

So try, webmaster@whatever they're url is

I dunno if they have that setup, but they should. I dunno if they even have a web developer there. All I know is they have a funny name.

A crude parody product featured in a website that an0n/fattony (they're the same) set up after he was banned from the VBB for profanity.

Nope.

I went back under a few different, offensive nick-names.

And as I recall, I was banned from the VBB because kode grassed me up for posting "I suck **** for crack" (EDIT: As a reference to the movie Half-Baked), the Todd-O-Love came later. And that's one of the reasons I was banned from HLP.

Yes, I'm quite proud of my originality. I don't recall such an inventive method of expressing dismay ever being posted on any of the multitude of forums which I frequent.

I generally don't like being here.

It's too quite. And odd. And bright.

Posted by an0n on 02-12-2003 06:40 PM:

But I suppose if I have to be here, I might as well double-post.
