The only reason to get a console is fighting games (Soul Calibur, Super Smash). Anything else is blasphemy (especially FPS games, as they must not be played on a joypad!). Yes, I know about the edit button, but it would spoil my other message.
Consoles spoiled Volition. If they hadn't been forced into putting Red Faction on that disgusting pile of sh, er--- disgusting pile of Sony, they probably wouldn't have been bought out by THQ (I don't know about that), then Red Faction would have been better and FS3 would have been in the pipeline for all of Volition's devout worshippers

Actually, the Dreamcast had a keyboard and mouse long before any other console had. I'm looking for UT on the Dreamcast so I can thrash anyone at school who thinks that joypads are the way to play FPS games. I am an 'anti-console bastard' (especially consoles made by Sony) and proud of it (except for Nintendo consoles - they are not in competition with the PC, as they have their own original, fun games - Super Smash being an example).
Volition did get raped by THQ. Otherwise they would be working exclusively for the PC and FS3 may be out.

THQ is going under for the sole reason that they are putting out Britney Spears games. I'm thirteen, and nobody in my entire school likes Britney Spears. Everybody I know thinks she's a hore.

BS is probaly going under now. She's had her day. Hell, I barely even hear her songs on the radio nowadays. Of course, that maybe because I spend my time listening to my anime tracks, but still.............

Hopefully, somebody'll pick Volition up. Maybe they should make a new space sim. Not Freespace, but something far better...........

A FreeSpace game for the console couldn't be that bad. Colony Wars, a space sim for the PSX, was a pretty good game. Although I really hope, if Volition ever makes a FS game for the consoles, they won't mess with the gameplay and the storyline to make it more "console-friendly", i.e. dumbing it down.

It would get VERY clunky. How are you gonna manage all the mtriad targeting, energy, and communication switches? You're going to need a controller the size of the Steel Battalion rig.
