well, i have noticed significant changes to the missions, apart from the required ones.

for example,

On the Mission where you get to destroy the Vasudan Ace near the Deneb-Antares Jump Node.

You need to destroy 4 Vasudan Attack Wings and if you want a Vasudan Ace.

In the Original Mission, you need to be on Medium and the pilot from the previous mission needs to survive and then when you blow up the Ace you get a medal for it.

But this version, you need to play it on Hard to get the Medal AND you need to play it on Hard for the Ace to even appear.

It seems to me that this mission is more tough than the original FS version. Arjuna4 seems to like to check out the newcomers when they warp in and then you get caught =(

You noticed that too? I thought it was just rusty me... how odd. The only thing I changed in that mission from 1.5 is adding shields to the Lucifer... I'll have to look into it.

I was playing in Normal mode (cuz I just want to go through the story again) and I met the ace. I also found the ace before destroying the third wing.

I beat Playing Judas by being more careful. The patrol paths of the Dragons are still very predictable but since Dragons are so fast, they move into range really quickly. I just had to freeze for moment and wait for them to move away. In FS1 I was sure they didn't come as close.

Hi there.

I got a small problem here.

When I try this mod, and I start the first FS1 mission, I come out without weapons.

Moving to weapon loadout don't help. There is no weapon avaible there too.

I tried to reinstal it to get rid of all my previous mods, and it did no good. I'm still deprived of weapons in the first FS1 mission.

Any advice?

Thanks.

Extract our tbl's and replace them with yours.

That should work me thinks as i've had related problems.

Sorry if this sound dumb, but what are those "TBLs" (files of what directory), and where do I get mine?

I mean, all I did to install was to place the file on the main folder... I'm not aware of any other change.

Please let me know the procedure to execute such replacement.

Thanks.

Edit:

I found only two files on a search:

Ships.tbl and weapon.tbl, both on the "x:\freespace2\data\tables" folder. Are those the files you are talking about? If so, should I replece them with what, I mean, I found no files with the same name...

Just to make this clearer, the weapons load out works fine both in the freespace regular campaign, and in the silence threat add...

You have two possible solutions FredLC.

1) Rename your data drawer and then make a new one. Copy your players directory over to the new drawer. You may have to reinstall the FS1Port now to make it work but you may not.

2) Rename the two table files you do have to something like ships.tbleDisabled.

The second one is simpler but getting into the habit of installing every mod you download in a new copy of your Data Drawer is a very good habit.

Thanks, Karajorma, great advice. Number 2 worked fine. Now I'll Have some FS1 action.

Just to make it sure... if I re-install the Mods I had before I reinstalled the game, will they affect my weapons loadout again, or should they work fine?

Thanks.

I explain how all these problems arise in greater detail in my FAQ but basically the table files tell which model files go with which ship (amongst other things). Therefore you can only have one.
If you install a mod with a different table it will overwrite the first one and FS2 won`t know where to look for the models in the first mod you installed.
Something similar occurs with the weapons.tbl

The easiest way to get round this is to always install every mod in a new drawer of its own and then simply rename directories depending on what you want to play (or use the open source version of FS2 which allows you to choose the drawer you want).

Good Port However some bugs:

1) The Ace Thing in Mission 2.

2) Cannot summon reinforcements in Mission 3. As well, the freighters are leaving much too early. This is an alternative mission scenario if the ace in Mission 2 has not been defeated, the freighters leave after half the normal time.
