Vivendi... another bad joke from the Frenchs

Vivendi is the worst company (besides Microsoft) that I know of.

They cancelled a while ago the "Roughneck : Starship Troopers Chronicle" serie, along with Sony. They cancelled it right before we could have a final conclusion on the serie. The last chapter of the serie is taking place on Earth and yet, we don't how the F**king bugs vs humans war ends... It totally SUCKS... That was an awesome serie but Vivendi had to F**k it up.

And as everyone knows, Vivendi also cancelled the B5 game that Sierra was supposed to produce... I think Vivendi hates sci-fi... Just look at some French movies (not all of them) are totally crap... and rarely about sci-fi.

But, I think we are somewhat lucky over in Canada, we don't have to deal with the Sci-Fi channel... we have Space and they have a real good programming. Tought they don't show B5 anymore but at least they did a farewell marathon, they showed 5 or 6 episodes back to back which were voted for by the fans... Would like to see it back on the air... At least CHUM TV (owner of Space, CITY TV, MuchMusic...) got a great CEO/Pres, he has a brain... They might just grab the Farscape serie where Sci-Fi dropped it.

Vivendi should burn in hell

Hooorray for Space

I doubt that Much has the dollar power to support any original sci-fi series at the moment, but I'm sure they'd love to. SPACE is a great channel, I love the programming and the work they do to give as much science fact as well as fiction. Apparently the CEO likes sci-fi stuff...which is why we've had rounds of Crusade on CityTV and B5 for a long time on SPACE. I imagine that B5 disappeared from the channel because they no longer had the rights to show it. Or it'd still be on. Canadian's often times love sci-fi...we just don't have the film industry to make it ourselves (although B5: LOTR and StarGate SG-1 are filmed in BC).

Well, the canadian film industry is getting better and better (especially Canada's MTV, Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver).

Also, there is another serie (not sci-fi, but good) supported a lot by CHUM is Relic Hunter, mostly film near Toronto.

Also, if you have watched Omerta or Fortier, both are french series but got either translated or subtitled and plays on late night on CBC, "The Best of French Canada", I think it's on Tuesday... On these show you can see how the Montreal expertise has greatly improved... and still growing...

For movies, "The Whole Nine Yards", "Battlefield Earth" both also done in Montreal... Had one of my friend working for one company, when they finished filming "The Whole Nine Yards", he got invited to the Bruce Willis' party in a club... man he was lucky...

Brag brag brag.

You guys are probably luckier than you realize; saying SciFi shows more horror movies than sci-fi is understating it. It's practically all horror movies now, and even if said movies incorperate some science fiction they still don't belong on this channel in the quantity we've been seeing. We all knew it was bad when SciFi announced it would be moving away from more "space oriented" scifi, but this worse than B horror movie crap is just stupid!

If I'm not mistaken, Vif****endi owns A LOT more in the entertainment industry than just Sierra and SciFi too.

If it's that bad cancel your subscriptions to the channel. When they lose enough subscribers they'll change their plans

You can't just cancel a channel here in the US kara. It comes as part of your cable or satalite subscription.

Angry Just be thankful

Here in the UK there are places where we can't get cable and landlords won't let you put up a dish.

4 TV channels, limited Sci-Fi of any sort and a 5th channel that we can't recieve.

Grrrr!

BTW (Off topic) - was Enterprise actually screened in 16x9 anywhere else?

Entreprise was filmed in 16x9... That is about the only Star Trek serie which I like a lot, then Voyager, DS9, Star Trek (with Mr Spock), ST:TNG.
