Bah! Why does everyone like the Ares so much? It's just a bomber that can't carry bombs.

Because I can load it up with dual Kaysers and blast anything that comes my way, for one. Secondly, swap a kayser for a Maxim, and then the real fun begins, as it deals a world of pain out to cruisers too. throw in Tornadoes and Trebuchets, and you've got a winner. All in a fighter 5 slower than a Herc 2, with so much more secondary space. I also dig the Tauret, I forgot all about it. Sweet, low profile, and large capacity. Easily my favourite Vasudan Fighter.

...Ullyses fighteres are fun too.

And try to fly the Pegasus during normal missions. It is a beaut to fly in.

FreeSpace 1:

Valkyrie with Prom/Banshee, or Prom/Avenger, depends on the mission, fury missiles always. Herc sometimes, same primaries, secondaries: one bank of fury, second bank of hornets...swarming owns...

FreeSpace 2:

First choice would be Erinyes, but you should only be flying it if you know what you're doing. Upper bank PromS, lower bank Kayser, secondaries: upper bank harpoons, lower bank tempests. If it's a matter of missile spammage, Herc2, promS and morning star, 2 banks of harpoons, however, if available, a Tauret (best heavy fighter, cept maybe the ares O.o) with the same loadout as the Herc2.

In the last couple of missions (except 3rd fleet HQ saving) Ares is best with upper bank maxim, lower bank kayser, secondaries: upper bank harpoons, lower bank trebuchets...

If I want to just have fun with people's minds, Loki with kaysers and maxims, tempests in the secondary bank.

If I want to just wade in and melt some metal, Erinyes with kaysers and morningstar, tempests and tornadoes in the secondary banks.

If I want to kill something big, Sekhmet with Maxims, Infyrnos, Trebuchets, and Helios....and a lot of support ships.

It is more fun to do that with the Pegasus...harder to detect.

I'll have to have four (two from FS1 and two from FS2)

FS1: Apollo with shield breaker and promtheus (sp?), with both banks full of Hornets
Medusa with promtheus with all the banks filled with Tsuami's

FS2: Herc with Kasyer and Subach, with Hornets (again!)
Artemis with Promtheus and banks filled with whatever bomb it's called that it can carry.

FS1: Herc with Banshee and Prometheus for priamries and Hornet and Interceptor for seconds
Bomber: Gotta be the Ursa, with harbringers and synaptic bombs

FS2: ARES!!! With Kayser/Maxim primaries and Harpoon/Trebuchet for secondaries
Bomber: It was close betwen the Artemis and Boanerges but in the end, I choose the Boanerges, heavy armor, large loadout, and the only Terran bomber that can carry the Kayser. Secondaries: Tornado, Trebuchet, Helios.

EDIT: My favorite Vasudan fighter is the Tauret. Primaries: Kayser(x2). Secondaries: Harpoon/Trebuchet.
