NEVER ask when the next release is coming out they'll never tell you and they'll hire hitmen on you

No, it's foolish to give ETAs when you can't keep them.
It's always better to say "When it's done". The game (or in this case, a release) will be released when it's ready.
We have learned this ETA lesson in the past, but game publishers haven't. They have money in their minds.
This is not avoiding the answer, this IS the answer. We could say, for example October 15th. But if we can't release it then, many fans will be disappointed. All releases will be released when they are done, no sooner nor later.
But I can say a roughly estimate for you: between now and 12 months. Is that enough?
Edit: It is more than enough if fans have a feeling if next release is looming behind "the next door" or if it will take much longer time.
Personally, I have a lot of exams coming, I can't work on missions or other tbp stuff that much.

There is always two sides. (Three if we apply B5-policy)
Both sides have their own positive and negative effects. (As taken from argument with Ice)
We have chosen another, end of discussion. (On my part)

That's a wrong policy. You need to give ppl something to expect, a date to look forward on, otherwise they get depressed and upset. And actually stop following the news.
You gotta have an estimated ETA, at least for the upcoming release, even if you aren't going to make it. People need to know how long will it take...

Past experience with this project has only shown that people get more ticked off if we give a date and miss it. So...since that time, we've been very adamant about not giving any dates. You'll probably hear about a week from release when we'll be releasing.
We're doing quite well. Alot of things are finished...we're building some missions and we're getting some more models finished.
Once again, very clearly. We're not getting any monetary compensation...so there's no real drive to do anything. The only drive is personal satisfaction...and quite often, we've got things that are higher priority than doing up a texture map or fixing a table. I like to do what I do and I think the rest of the team has the same feeling, but its time consuming, and if there are delays....we have to accept them. We have no budget, no milestones to hit, no date we have to release by...and certainly no market to really compete for. We'll bring it to you guys as quickly as we can...in the best format we can.

For all the rest of you.... don't come here.
At first it was an innocent question, but now you really annoyed me. As a modmaker myself (for other games of course) I know the most important thing is awareness. you have to be aware to the will of the people, and the people wanna know when they gonna get what they want (in this specific case R2).
If you don't have time or are feeling you aren't going to make a theoritical deadline then you should get more people to join the modstaff. I think, that you should have an approximate date for release, like "In 3 months"... If you'll release it early, nobody will be upset. It will make the work more demanding for you, and that's good. Creating an obligation.

Mr Fury has already said it will be within the next 12 months,
by your own criteria you should be happy.
