-- What is the thing that you most look at in a Ship Model? (http://volitionwatch.papageorgefamily/vwbb/showthread.php?threadid=7293)
I wasn`t having a go at you aldo. Hades was complaining about half finished models. I don`t mind downloading those as long as they are labelled as being unfinished (like your modelpump was).
What is annoying is when you download a model that the author releases and only when you`ve downloaded it discover that it has no LOD's, Debris or paths.
If you release an unfinished ship you should state that it is unfinished. If you get it put up on VW archives or a site like that it should definately be finished. Places like VW should be for ships that people can just download and put into the game without having to find a modder to finish it.

I look for stable well balanced geometry, no unflat polys, no bad booliens, relitivly similar sized polys, no section of the ship that looks more blocky than the rest, and obviusly the hull is made of one subobject. also I look to see if the model has been properly optomised, if you're geometry looks at all gridlike that'll be a point off right there
UV space, I look to see that there is as little waisted space as posable and the pixel dencity is fairly uniform
textures, if I can easily tell how you made you're texture I probly won't like it, I am very picky about textures to the point that I can almost never live up to my own standards
aslo I get a little pissed when someone puts out a ship with no LODs, and especaly when there is no debris, if I have to suffer through the missery of makeing LODs so do you, and debris is practicaly easy and gives such a benifit it just angers me, on some ships you can get away with only having paths to docks but others, no, you can't get away with out doing the paths.
I do like blastable subobjects, but only if they have the apropriate dead version left behind smoldering,
I also like to see LODed turrets, just makes it look all aroung better

Actually, I've found that the AI is able to attack subsytems without paths..... when I was testing the Njord my wingmen seemed to be more than happy to pick off turrets before I had added paths....
