There are issues.....always issues. You make everyone registar.....you know who is on your board. It's NOT that big a deal. I seriously doubt ranting on this board about it is gonna change anything. When in Rome...........

Well I have tried getting into a game cheating every way possible that I know of. I have even tried getting in cheating the way the morons did in 1.10 and 1.00. I tried renaming things and exchanging things in the ui and nothing. I tried putting a very small .tga graphic in the ui that was 11kb but nothing. If the ui.vpp is changed at all, you cant access the multiplayer section, at all.

The reason why the patch shouldnt get all over is because people are gonna get it and then think they are set. Long behold when SubZ finishes the final patch those people are gona try joing games cause they have the patch and then their gonna find out that they cant join. It gonna be like haveing different versions of maps floating around, with the incompatible data. So far I have seen small clan sites that have it for download and if they dont ever check back to where they got it, all the people that download it from those sites are gonna get screwed with incompatble data.

Nah..give the users some credit. Once their favorite servers show up incompatible they'll go looking for the final product.

U guys should respect the makers of this patch and stop spreading round a beta. BTW although this idea was talked about mostly on RFHQ give the credit where it is deserved most. Do these guys have a website or some sort of central nexus where they can release their stuff when the time comes. This sounds like a very important development for everyone here....I hope it brings a new prosperity to the RF community.

Hey sup FURYweb here. If you wanna call the person who set up JD. Anyway with all the great work done by SubZ and harmLE$$(people who made this patch possible) lets all say a big thanks to them. Im just the guy who made the gfx for the new setup screen. Anyway hopefully i will have some sort of website design done for the updates, hopefully someone will be kind enough to let me host it upon a decent server

It actually does make forum security easier to disable the annonie user, I can list a slew of great forums that have the guest disabled, sure it sucks at first, but sometimes, you just have to make a spam email account and bite the bullet if you want to find out what the hell is going on

yes well it kept me from joining for about a year, were otherwise I would have probly joinednine months ago.
but it's you're board, do what you want

seeing as you all are cerculating a launcher, maybe you should have some sort of update site so once anyone DLs any version of the patch they can click on the update button and get the most up to date version

I know it's a long shot but can anyone talk to the [V] people about having it update from the update button in the RF launcher when the patch is complete?

Or is harmLE$$ trying to make it so that the update button goes to another server?

Maybe Todd will read this and provide some insight.

Hunter the people at V would prolly hunt us down if they find out about this cause its actually illegal i think what we have done . As for the update function I have modded it so it looks for a different server (Which one is a secret ) but rest assured if +Sinister+ does what he has promised todo then the update function will be used for any future releases if there are any...

Also MAJOR Props goes to Subz, i am just project manager and IDEA MAN i tell him what to do he does it

they're aware of it. I'm not sure what their stance on it is, though. I'm still pretty weary of it because noone has still told us how they did it without source code or anything.
