You see, I said Drazi Cruiser because that's what they are. Sunhawks are actually comparable in power to an Earth Omega. Just check out the description in the ships section on this website! And, BOOYA!

Is this what you refer to?
"Originally assumed to be a mediocre vessel by Earth Alliance tacticians, the Sunhawk is anything but mediocre. Moderately fast, well armored and well armed, this powerful medium class ship has an impressive weapons array packed into a medium class vessel. These ships are the mainstay of the Drazi military and have served for many years with distinction, allowing the Drazi to maintain a position of strength and stability in the face of Centauri encroachment. The Sunhawk has also been sold to other races for use in boarder patrol."

See "Medium class ship." An Omega is a Heavy. The Sunhawk is more comparable to a Whitestar in terms of size and role. More of a frigate in one of our contemporary navies. In that context, an Omega would be a carrier.

Yeah, no where does it say that a Sunhawk can match an Omega. How crazy would that be!!!

I still don't even give much credence of a single WhiteStar against a fully outfitted Omega class destroyer (plus fighter squadron).

Omega's are as I understand it a very potent vessel. Its not the meanest thing around but its very well suited to a number of roles. It acts as a warship, a carrier, and as a support platform.

Now....Sunhawks....are pretty good vessels but they have a number of shortcomings and they are designed for specific purposes. First....they can carry a single fighter. Two, they have no jump drive. Three they are fairly small and while well armed and able to take a beating, they don't take a beating like ships that are much larger than it. The Drazi no doubt never use them alone....they always travel in groups and use their combined firepower to eliminate an enemy.

Is there anyone out there who takes regular ship models and throws on the Shadow texture and some spikes just to see how they would look as an -X? I think it would be a worthwhile effort if only I knew how.

Pera made Nova-X, no spikes, but still cool loking and got lots of fire power

Actually, now that I've learned 3D modelling, I might try and see what would it look like with spikes

So which ship does everyone think would be the most intimidating were it to bear the modifications of the Shadows? I think a deep black G'Quan with all that shifty texture and Shadow spines all around it, and with a couple facing straight forward coming right out from next to the G'Quan's normal beam cannons would be great.
