1) mess with object size...
2) object dissolve...
I recon the second point for shadow phasing but jumping in/out is better done with the first onbe....

Hyperspace jumps are easy
no they aint especcially when the edges of your jumppoit are solid not transparent...

Like driller said, mes whit object sizes and disolve values and see what comes out best.
