Perhaps the people of the TBP team wont be making player flyable shadow and Vorlon vessels but I'm sure someone will eventually.
With the source code, and therefore the ability to make major changes someone could make beams that players could fire. And since shodow vessels only have 1 forward facing beam cannon, it could be intresting to make a player flyable battlecrab.
This could be used after the First Ones are released to make a campaign abou the war between the first ones and the shadows a million years ago.

There's my two cents for today.

What B5 fan would say that Shadows shouldnt be included. But -- Shadow War was one of the most essential part of B5. I wouldn't wanna miss a thing of it.

But I still wonder how youre going to make the ships stop while telepaths are grinding their teeths when disrupting a shadow vessel pilot

Of course, "in reality" there would be no HUD for Vorlon or Shadow ships as both are remote piloted from the mother ship. This method of control allows one (or a few) beings to control multiple fighters telepathically, instinctively feeling for the correct user inputs to send to the fighters. Not very reproducable in TBP but I'm sure that at some stage you'll get to fly a good compromise version of a Shadow or Vorlon fighter.

Someone already has made player fireable beams by altering the source code.

But would there be absolutes for Vorlon and Shadow vessels? The ships both have their own weaknesses - Shadow Battlecrabs can't withstand extreme shifts in gravity, while vorlon ships probably have a limit to their sheild strength. Both ship types are possibly also incapable of surviving an uncontrolled overload inside a jumpgate (Matters Of Honor - Season 3).

And even though Vorlon ships have their own living computer, pilots like the Vorlon Ambassadors would some how be able to interface with them for attacking multiple targets at will. Shadow vessels would probably do the same, if they ever recieved a new set instructions telepathically from Z'Ha'Dum.

As for particle output, even telepaths would possess a limit to the amount of time they could channel their energy into the weapons systems, before letting the computer take over. For Shadow Vessels, there might be a way to disrupt their ability to draw power from Hyperspace.

B5 was not about a war. It was about as JMS stated "Killing your parents." There is a metaphor at work here, and I think it's flying over some people's heads. But at least it's not dumbed down like a certain SF franchise we know...

He's also stated that it's about making choices, the rationale behind the choice, the consequences of the choice and living with the consequences. This applies equally to each character and to each race. Some handle the opportunities better (e.g. Sheridan) and others not well at all (e.g. Londo).

don't worry... we do listen.. we just don't pay too much attention to ideas that are either bad or simply a poor use of our time.
