Well I surely hope that it won't smell like a Pak'ma'ra.... Or even a Purple Drazi.

you ppl are overeacting, B5 wont make your PC's slow, the end prduct will have LOD's and I think a few thousand Polys can be quite well handled by any decent PC (any thing above a PIII 500 and thats alredy overstating) the bottleneck here might be memory on both system and Graphics card, so if you have one of those 64MB or even 128MB monsters (and 256MB of RAM) your well off, even if your CPU is a couple of years old .
Mine is a T-bird 1200 with a G-force 256 SDR and thats plenty enough For any FS2 ships thrown at it (planning on getting one GF 4200 soon ), and I got an old B5 station version with massive loads of 512x512 textures (uglies) more than Capt whites will have (Optimized), no probs there.

You people aren't thinking straight (this is mostly directed at TBP members posting here)...as you can see, that model isn't even textured completely. Nor that model even has got all the components, all the turrets are missing. Not to mention the pure fact that if GF3 draws only ~3000 polys at 40 fps, you bet I'm worried. This thing will never be seen alone like here, nor with so simple scene lightning etc.

Those pics are really terrible. The ambiente light is killing my eyes. I know you are much further than that Whity , you shouldn't have shown those ugly pics, they suck in my opinion.

Next thing you show please is fully textured lod0 with correct ambient lightning , epsilon 3 and the nebula. Thanks
Stuff like that just frightens me.

Cool

Well I thought it looked pretty good, of course the texturing isn't complete but then I can wait for it to be completed

Well I've got a Pentium III 1GHz processor and half a gig of ram, and it runs perfectly.

You gotta remember that this is only a test, so its quite possible that the texture problem will fix itself once the level is complete.
