And to expand on my initial comment as I've now gotten new info, I'd suggest getting VC++ 6.0 Professional if you want to be able to build a release build. Not sure about the new .net stuff and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. But then, I'm used to Borland stuff and have avoided Microsoft compilers for programming. (The WMP 6.4 Active X control is annoying enough.)

You can work upon .tbl files with simple wordPad.
At least it works in my case.
