Probably one of those theories that can't hold water because it contradicts whats said in the game in oh so many ways.

When we debate these seriously fan boy issues, its a good idea to actually have listened to all of the monologues, read the tech rooms, and listened to what is discovered in the missions before any of us goes around making theories.

I can't really properly formulate a theory about the whole Shivan thing because there isn't enough facts to support many theories at all. And too many people think of them on human terms. They may not even be terrestrial...they have 3 feet....why would they think like the bipeds we are?

Opps. They worked even after the VBB went down cause THQ mearly took out the topic list but left all the pages up. I guess they've finally completed their destruction of the VBB now.

.... and to the Shivans. I said about them in the Shivans topic though can repeat as I see it.
They could been created by an uknown race (but not by the Ancients, that`s for sure) probably as some kind of the fighting force, prepared for the hardest battle conditions and not interessed in conquest as much as in the fight or gaining the domination.
Maybe, they served as protectors and their creator lost control over them loooooong long time ago?
I think it is one of the mysteries which are not to be resolved.

I agree they must think in the other way.
And doubt if they know their origin.
And doubt if the Shivans would agree with this post

The Ancients discovered subspace 8 thousand or more years before The Great War. They conquered planets and species wholesale and went on for quite a while expanding in as many directions as possible.

Their subspace technology was quite advanced, however, their weapons and defensive systems were not nearly as advanced and only about as good as the GTA's weapons when they first met the Shivans.

They, unlike the Terrans and Vasudands, did not adapt to the Shivan threat very well. They fought them and had little sucess against them. Ultimately, a Lucifer class destroyer eliminated their fleets and destroyed the surface of their planet. This was 100% genocide on the part of the Shivans.

Hey dude, welcome to the boards! Those are pics I had "rendered" a few months ago, according to the spoken dialogs in the FS1 Ancient cutscenes. The text is completely canon (official), and the visual settings are taken from the cutscene settings as well, just spiffed up a bit.
