Intergay held the patent on MVE - avenger tells me the MVE code has been ripped out

he also tells me the PXO multiplay code and the Auto Update code have been ripped out

but so what.. the LAN TCP/IP is still there and that's the core of multiplayer - we just have to write a new stats keeper and chat room server [new squadwar with a bigger map anyone?!] and we have to write a new auto update [not very hard] and a new video player [and someone can anonymously convert the origional MVEs over]

What about models, names, etc.? Or is it just everything is okay as long as we don't sell it for profit?

I honestly don't know the legalities of user-made mods. If anything significant were to be released, I'd check with Volition people-in-charge first.

I'm pretty sure the EULA for FS2 stipulates that you can't hand out any data that comes with the game itself. But again, I'm not a lawyer.

I actually meant the [V] mods...and anything else pertaining to the game not in the source (anis, maps, wavs, etc.) Ya know, the little things that people might change to go along with for example FSF.

What Kazan said is pretty much my conclusion on this. On a new movie format DIVX or a Windows Media format would be best. (Windows Media is pretty default, but if DIVX is chosen be sure to include drivers in the setups)

Sounds like plans are underway for an FS2 1.3 patch here

let's try to stay away from platform specificity in anything we add on - that wi'll make it easier when some of us sit down and port it
