adding newtonian physics is possible, and could be implemented in ships.tbl or a similar file, though I don't think it should be a priority for Kazan and his team..
alternate mission endings would be easy to code, espescially considering that FS2 files are simply text files.
I'd like to add "3D effects" and "decals" to the wish list.
My advise to Kazan's team would be to begin by duplicating the FS2 engine, ie. having .POFs moving around, displaying .ANIs in the right way, using .TBL files correctly, and playing .FS2 missions through the same way FS2 does...
the next step would be to start coding the extra functionality: ie support for advanced models, advanced mission functions, etc.
Legally, I don't think there's a problem, considering people would need FS2 to play FS2 with your new engine.
As far as I understand the only thing that wouldn't work would be the original MVE cutscenes, because they're Interplay's patented format.. that's no big loss though, considering the cutscenes are pretty poor by today's standards anyway.

Actually...some sort of MOD interface so you could select and turn on and off tables would be handy. So you could run multiple data trees like I do and just select the required data tree.

If you're going to crosspost, then read replies in both threads. Otherwise it's rather rude to use the VWBB as a ground to just dump everyone to HLP. If people are trying to give you advice, the least you can do is read their suggestions here; even if it means a few duplicates (hey, that just means the ideas are popular.)
