Strider: Ever heard of "never say never"?

You don't know its dead....its impossible for you, JMS, the rest of the fanbase, and probably Sci-Fi's corporate executive to know if its dead....why? Because almost nothing is set in stone, nothing is for certain, and nothing should be taken for granted one way or the other.

It is most unlikely at this time to see a B5: Legend of the Rangers series. But its not impossible and its not for certain that it won't.

Ashrak, if you don't tone it down right away you are heading for a ban. And that goes for anyone else who responds like that.

tone what down? what did he say?

and yeah Strider, LOTR is unlikely, but not dead... if I win the lottery today, I'll finance it, and BOOM its alive again!

so you see, nothing is certain

Well, having just gotten a broadband internet connection I decided to download it to finally see what it was like for myself.

Overall I thought it showed quite a lot of promise, although there was definitely room for improvement (but that's what pilot's are for in the first place).

The main things I didn't like were:

The shouty lady... or not so much her, but the "new" weapons systems interface. I much prefered the simple console-type interfaces of the Whitestars.

The new hyperspace effects; especially the jump sequence.

The fact that there were only two ships available for use, and neither was of any kind we've already seen. This is Minbar for crying out loud, there should be loads of ships there, whether they're being built, repaired or whatever.

Personally I think a LOTR series would fair better than Crusade did, but then that's just my opinion. If they would release it to video and dvd worldwide as they did with the other B5 movies, then I think they'd find there was a lot of interest (I would certainly buy it) -- whether it's enough to warrant the making of a series is another thing, but hey.
