And which programm have they used to create the Legend of the Rangers? Is it maybe Maya that was used to creat jurassic parc. That should be a fine programm too or what are the differences between them?

Anyway, I hate that. I live in Switzerland and we always must hope that the TV-Cannels are indulgent enough to translate it.
Otherwise I will never see it.

You can allwayd try eDonkey... Takes a while, but it's there...

BTW, I really didn't like the design of the ships... Only the Liandra was 'acceptable'... I've never seen a ship as ugly as the Valen or Enfili class...

I hope there will be serie but it's better to be better than pilot. After seeing Babylon 5 and knowing what kind of world it is, it's really silly that some screaming girl throw plasma bolts with her hands. And like we all saw from B5 that shadows and firstones are ûber, allmighty crowd, why tell that they are like toys?

Warlord has touched some disturbing facts that are specialy relevant... this series are not what it used to be, the ideas start to scarce and the acumulation of consecutive conflicts with increasingly more powerfull enemies (even when this story is back in time again) starts to cause some attrition and saturation.
many of the charismatic caracters are gone (almost all infact)
And fascination that this series had by its inovative concept is now faded away. Potential viewers will also feel gaps in the argument as some of its logic is based on something that hapened in earlier seriers passed on TV years ago.
The sense of mistery and suspense caused by this new alien even more powerfull race, the hand is infact a repetition to what hapened with the shadows. The story also makes the feeling that outside universe now plays as landscape with little interventionism.

I think B5 as it used to be died... But as a sci-fi fan I always like a good series and hope it aires (low probability to reach here, not good to alocate audiences for agressive TV chanel competition, now novels are yuck!! )

You all assume that The Hand are what they say they are when its quite possible that they are a paper tiger. Nowhere did it say that the Drakh were a more powerful enemy either. But they were one to be reckoned with.

you guys are forgetting just one thing. The First Ones are just the firstones from OUR galaxy. Maybe the hand is the shadows from another galaxy

Posted by JC Denton on 03-28-2002 06:58 AM:

First Ones from another galaxy? Then that would explain the portal or whatever it was that "The Hand" was emerging from.

BTW, when I first saw The Gathering, I thought it more political than action-oriented. And once the series got going, I saw it evolve into something with a very involving storyline.

And unfortunately, I see little chance of LOTR's story of becoming so engrossing as the original B5's. I mean, if "The Hand" is so incomprehensibly powerful that the Shadows would mean nothing to them, then a) how did the Lintira manage to destroy two of their ships, without support? Pretty good for a 30-year-old junker. And b) even if the Liandra can smack the killer-starflake-thingies, what else might "The Hand" have in reserve, and if they could crush the Shadows with ease, what chance does the ISA even stand against them?

And as for aesthetics, I too wish they'd go back to Lightwave. The ships seemed...err, too detailed, if that's even possible. They seemed so detailed that they looked artificial. Okay, now I go off to relieve my mind.

And as for Cantrell, well, that's a rather piss-poor attempt at generating sex appeal to the adolescent audience. I just don't get what's so attractive about a girl floating in a holotank flinging fireba--err, plasma balls out. Yes it's a unique and efficient method of fire control, but the execution was...lacking.

Don't get me wrong, I do hope that they make it into a series, it's just my opinion that the time would be better spent bringing Crusade back on-air (like that's ever going to happen).

And another one of my humble opinions, but the original B5 pilot was much more interesting than this one. But I guess I'm a stickler for the oldies.

Alright, its 1:00 in the morning here, and I'm done ranting for the night.

i really thought the fire control sucked. it was terrible

well the screaming chik part i hated but othervise it was nice and logycal you try directing a bunch of turrets at the same time with buttons and those ships were not the hand ships those were well little fighters compared to the real hand ships and i still think that thirdspace dudes would kick the hands ass because thirdspace boy's are antilife and you don't want to mess with them so rebuild the portal and let em have a bite at eachother ofcourse stronger races wanna take out other races who are stronger first so they would leave us allone and fight among themselves

and i would be if they did it

Well, also remember that the 3rdSpace portal was built by the Vorlons, and they've been out beyond the rim for a while now, so there's little chance of rebuilding it. Unless you could somehow recall the FirstOnes from the rim for help... Yeah, when Hell freezes over, I know. (actually it has been pretty cold here lately...)

BTW, that Vir smilie is...disturbing me.
