At least truespace 5 is substancialy easier. I tried to model a ship before and made one in a single day. For those who know the Wing commander universe its a tallahassee confed cruiser. its abot 280 polys (not sure I'm not a home right now).
Because it was a first experience I've ever had in truespace moddeling (my area is texturing) the model...huh... has... huhmmm.. (how can I put this? )... a few issues, in Modelview32 youll be able to see those hidden edges and vertexes caused by primitives deformation and then forgot to rectificate those.
But it plays!!!

The Ts5 GUI isn't that bad, Max 4 is much more daunting (especially mapping) to me - atlhough it's really easy after a few hours practice - , but I'd never dare try and model something with Ts.

Well, TS isn't too bad a modeller, just takes a bit getting used to - for some things, boolean operations particularly, it's pretty much top notch.

I use max however, because I'm training to be a professional, and the pros don't use Truespace, as a general rule. At some things, Max is better than Truespace - texture application for one.

It does depend on what you're used to.

I'm writing a tutorial for Max users who want to use it to make FS2 vessels but generally hit a wall when it comes to putting the ship through Truespace.
