GROPOS because it has the most capital letters per episode title.

...sarcasm.

I challenge anyone to watch either Severed Dreams or Shadow Dancing the first time and not end up spending 45 mins with their jaw on the floor.

My favourites so far...

1.) Severed Dreams
- > President Clark sends forces to retake Babylon 5 after it declares independence. Lots of Starfuries and Thunderbolts mixing it up.

2.) Between the Light and Darkness
-> Love the battle between the Ivanova's WhiteStar fleet and 20 Omega-X destroyers.

3.) Endgame
-> Those GOD Platforms can really fire lots of missiles.

4.) Racing Mars
-> Mars upclose. Real interesting.

5.) Shadow Dancing
-> Beams galore!

Least favourite
#1 Deconstruction of falling stars (OMG that episode sucked!)

#3 Grail (eeeeew!)

One of the episodes I find irritating is Intersections In Realtime.

They just keep going on and on and on and on.......

Good thing they came to rescue Sheridan from that hellhole in Between the Light and Darkness.

Funny though... I kept Intersections in Real Time as one of the best episodes on Babylon 5... it was different, it was not boring at all even if it had a lot of dialogue.

Also Z'ha'dum and Sleeping in Light are two of my favorites too...

Then A View from the Gallery was one funny episode too... At least it was different in some way...

Each Night I Dream of Home and A Call to Arms. Those are the only places where we see a Warlock destroyer.

Call To Arms? Season 5?

Well it seems that my Shinai has found it's first target, Boron Shark! Next time I take Bokka (full-wood sword) or Katana and then I will take your head! Wakarimasu ka (do you understand)?

A call to Arms is one of the movies...Not an episode...

'Intersections in Real Time' was a great idea done well in parts but for me lacked a little harshness and reality.

You can't discount Deconstruction of Falling Stars because it isn't graphic enough - if it had been more graphic, it would have been inappropriate for the target audience. As it stands, it shows a good example of psychological torture/brainwashing, though it appears some members of this board would prefer if it portrayed more extreme physical forms of torture.

The lack of extreme physical forms of torture is explained away by the Narn paingivers - devices that apply extreme pain in a censor-friendly way. Also, it means that emphasis is placed on the psychological torture that Sheridan undergoes, as well as the sleep depravation, food and water depravation, poisoning, etc.

Sensory depravation is not used in this episode, no, though this is arguably because this episode shows merely the beginning of Sheridan's torture. The following episode (name escapes me) shows some form of sensory manipulation, with Sheridan's mind directly linked to a computer - this is further on in the interrogation process.

Saying this episode is unrealistic because of the lack of graphic violence - actively complaining: "but where was the rape, brutalisation," is foolish, because such things would be inappropriate to the target audience. Comments like this taken to their extreme are like saying Disney's Cinderella is an unrealistic portrayal of child abuse, or that Grange Hill (British TV programme set in School) is unrealistic because the children don't say the F' word every 2 seconds.

Anyway.. The thing I wanted to say in this post:

I watched Severed Dreams today.. I had already seen it but must've forgotten.. It stands now as my favourite.

I didn't say that it was a terrible episode, nor that it should have shown more graphic violence etc. but that being in the position it was in I felt that the episode lacked a little edge to it.

This is only my opinion of it, not that it was a bad idea and shouldn't have been done at all but didn't quite reach my standards of realism.

BTW, that repetative "You will cooperate with the state for the good of the state..." message would not stop you from sleeping. I've tried something similar - sleeping in a night club

I wouldn't have been unhappy if the entire Byron plot suddenly vanished and was replaced with an extension to troubles on Mars or on Earth.

yes, there REALLY are NO bad B5 episodes.

I stand by my "homo" comment.

Grail was good. Some nameless idiots hate season 1, but its what got me hooked on B5 in the first place.
